Computrainer: Interactive Bike Course Videos

Computrainer Interactive Video

Computrainer has released Interactive Bike Course Videos:

Instead of 3D graphics, the Interactive Bike Course Videos include real footage of the bike courses. To make it all happen, RacerMate (the manufacturer of CompuTrainer and an Ironman Sponsor) spent 2007 filming 15 Ironman and Ironman 70.3 bike courses. The videos were then combined with CompuTrainer software to precisely synchronize the film speed with rider speed.

The price of one course DVD is $99.95 plus postage, while a package of two costs $159.95.

I have a Computrainer and I think it’s a great product, but $99 for one DVD/course! It’s just too much. I’ll stick with the 3D package.

New Events RSS

There are a lot of people who prefer to use RSS rather than go to individual sites (I am one of them). Up till recently triresults.com had no RSS feeds at all, even though I spend most of my day working with RSS technology. A couple of days ago I added an RSS support to the page that displays athletes results and today I added another RSS feed, “New Events RSS”, that shows last 25 events that were added to triresults.com:

New Events RSS

If you click on it, you’ll see something like this:

New Events RSS Feedburner

When you click the event name link, it will take you to the results page for that event. Let me know if you have any questions.

TRIResults Widget

I have created a TRIResults widget that you can add to your website or blog. It looks like a text box and it shows your last 5 results that are in TRIResults.com. I will write another post with specific instructions.

Here’s an example for Tim DeBoom

Tim DeBoom Results

and this is what it looks like embedded in a blog tripaika.blogspot.com.

Technical details: the width of the Results Box is 225px, the height is 380px. It always displays results from the last 5 triathlons for this athlete. This widget will only work with blog publishers that allow iframe tags (e.g. Blogger).

UPDATE: Here’s the link to the post where I explain how to add TRIResults widget to Blogger.
