Are there "wait lists" available, or if someone cancels, are there websites where you can purchase their number (not via ticket scalping, but I've heard of such legitimate websites for sold-out marathons). When will the 2010 Lake Placid Triathlon be held? How qucikly does the registration close out for the next year's race? I also tried last year, was unable to access the registration site for several hours, then missed out. I turn 50 tomorow, and will not have many more opportunities for this.....
